National Rifle Association Endorses Jeff Flake for U.S. Senate
Flake commended for defense of 2nd Amendment Rights
PHOENIX -- The National Rifle Association today endorsed Jeff Flake in the general election for United States Senate over Democrat Richard Carmona.
At an announcement at the Scottsdale Gun Club, NRA CEO and Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre, speaking on behalf of the NRA's Political Victory Fund, said:
"Jeff Flake is committed to protecting the Right to Keep and Bear Arms guaranteed to all Americans. Because of his strong dedication and voting record, he has earned an "A" rating and endorsement from the NRA-PVF."
"Growing up in rural Arizona, I appreciate firearm ownership and the need to protect Second Amendment rights," said Jeff Flake. "As America's foremost defender of the Second Amendment, I appreciate the NRA's support."
The NRA endorsed Jeff Flake in the Republican primary election and urged its members, gun owners, and sportsmen in Arizona to support Jeff. They did, and Flake won the primary with 70 percent of the total vote.
In Congress, Flake has a solid and consistent record of support for Second Amendment rights and responsible pro-gun legislation, earning an "A" rating from the NRA-PVF. It's a record that he will continue in the Senate.
Jeff Flake sponsored H.R. 3440, the "Recreational Shooting Protection Act," to prevent a ban on recreational shooting on Bureau of Land Management lands nationwide. His bill was included in a legislative package, H.R. 4089, the "Sportsmen's Heritage Act of 2012," that favorably passed the House of Representatives 274-146.

Jeff Flake Releases Plan for Economic Growth and Prosperity
Six-point plan provides path to a stronger economy
PHOENIX – Jeff Flake today released a sound and sensible plan to address the nation’s weak economy and jobs market – which has only been worsened during the last four years of President Obama’s failed economic policies. Flake’s plan outlines six steps that, if enacted, will help stabilize the America’s economy and markets and return the country to a prosperous path.
Jeff Flake’s plan calls for moving forward with comprehensive tax reform, halting the Obama Administration’s regulatory overreach, taking advantage of readymade economic opportunities, ensuring the U.S. economy has the best and the brightest, jumpstarting domestic energy development, and supporting free trade agreements and expanding exports.

Considering the years-long turmoil that Andy Kunasek has weathered as a Maricopa County Supervisor, it would be a cruelty to conclude he does not deserve re-election.
Of course he does.
Kunasek has been a consistent defender of the taxpayer's interest, advocating for solid services at a fair price.
His leadership is a major reason Maricopa County now boasts a $400 million surplus just a few years after the county endured a perfect storm of financial near-collapse and political turmoil of operatic proportions.
The Arizona Republic recommends that voters return Kunasek to office in District 3.
A Republican, Kunasek is opposed by Democrat Lilia Alvarez, an attorney and a founding member of Citizens for a Better Arizona, the protest group highly critical of the board for not taking a stronger stance in opposition to Sheriff Joe Arpaio's anti-illegal immigration policies.
Led by Alvarez's husband, Randy Parraz, the group also played a critical role in ousting former Senate President Russell Pearce from the Legislature.
Passionate, well-prepared and with a sound organization backing her, Alvarez is a credible candidate. But it is difficult to discern where her activism ends and her professed dedication to representing a diverse county district begins.
In short, it is unclear to what degree Alvarez would consider foiling Joe Arpaio's interests to be Job One.
It is especially befuddling that she has opted to run against Kunasek, who for months braved the furious abuses of police power directed his way by Arpaio's former Chief Deputy David Hendershott and others.
Through the darkest hours Maricopa County has ever known, Andy Kunasek kept his head, emerging with integrity well intact. That alone qualifies him for another term.

This could very well affect the Cardinals down the road as the SeaGulls should have lost that game. NFL Commissioner Roger Goddell should be 'tar & feathered'. Good thing, looks like the NFL is finally coming to their senses and we may have the regular officials back for this weekends games.
