Jim Kolbe Endorses Martha McSally

Jim Kolbe Endorses of Martha McSally

Tucson - Today, former Congressman Jim Kolbe announced his endorsement of Martha McSally.

"I'm enthusiastic about the prospect of Martha McSally representing Arizona's Second District in Congress," said Congressman Kolbe. "At a time when Congress is so divided, we need someone who understands what it takes to get things done. Martha has that leadership experience; her life has always been about bringing people together to solve complex problems like the ones our nation faces today. She'll do a great job looking after our interests in Congress, and I am proud to endorse her. She deserves the support of all of us."

Kolbe, a Tucson resident, represented Arizona in Congress for 22 years, from 1985 to 2007.

"I am extremely grateful to have the support of such a deeply respected public servant like Jim Kolbe, who represented this district for 22 years," said McSally. "Congressman Kolbe was a fantastic leader in Washington because he was always willing to fight for what was right, and to work with both sides of the aisle to get things done. That is the kind of leadership I want to provide for Southern Arizona in Congress."

Martha McSally is the first female fighter pilot to fly in combat, and first to command a fighter squadron in combat in United States history. In 2001-2002, Martha McSally earned national recognition for successfully overturning a military policy requiring all U.S. servicewomen to wear Muslim clothing when off base in Saudi Arabia.
